Banteay Srei

The 'citadel of the Women' is about 25 km north of the main temple complex and offers you a nice trip through rural Cambodia. Banteay Srei is (unfortunately) one of the most favorite sites. So, as a photographer, you either ignore the tourists or you come early to beat the crowd. It also offers you a glimpse at what might happen to the region in a few years when the number of tourists increases. This tenth century temple is known for its intricate decoration carved in pinkish sandstone. It is a Hindu Temple, dedicated to Shiva.
