San Francisco de Asís

Founded October 9, 1776

Nothing around the mission which is located in busy San Francisco reminds us of the once wonderful setting on the hills above the Bay. Despite the risk, this is one of the missions which did not burn down. Nor was it destroyed by an earthquake! It's a pretty church with it's original bells still in place. When I finally completed visiting all of California Missions, I came back to Mission Dolores in January 2000.
